Consult your doctor

There was a time Levitra was considered an Eastern Medicine, but more recently, there’s been a marked improvement in our patient population. This improvement is not clinical; it’s a symptom-tracking measure.

Typically, a 100% success rate is seen with a 100% cure. However, there are situations in which a 100% cure is not possible or appropriate, such as in individuals taking a nitrates medication for angina or those on alpha-blocker medication for high blood pressure. We consider these situations to be “statistics” in which the results are within the “95” range.

There is a very limited experience with 100% cure cases with Levitra.

Understanding Drug Interactions:

  • Drug interactions can alter how your medications work or increase the risk of serious side effects.
  • This document does not cover all potential drug interactions.

Keeping Track of Your Medications:

  • Keep a record of all the products you use, such as medicines with or without a prescription, and herbal items
  • Give your pharmacist and doctor access to this list.

Changing Medications:

  • Do not initiate, discontinue, or modify the dosage of any medicines without consulting your doctor.

Specific Interactions:

  • Drugs that may interact with vardenafil: riociguat, vericiguat.

Nitrates and "Poppers": Vardenafil can cause a severe drop in blood pressure when used with nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide) or recreational drugs like "poppers" containing amyl or butyl nitrite. This can lead to dizziness, fainting, and rarely heart attack or stroke.

Alpha Blockers: If you are taking an alpha blocker (e.g., doxazosin, tamsulosin) for conditions like enlarged prostate or high blood pressure, combining it with Vardenafil may cause excessively low blood pressure, leading to dizziness or fainting. Your doctor may initiate vardenafil at a lower dose to reduce this risk.

Other Medications: Certain drugs can affect how Vardenafil is metabolized in the body, potentially altering its effectiveness. Examples include azole antifungals (e.g., itraconazole, ketoconazole), macrolide antibiotics (e.g., clarithromycin, erythromycin), and HIV protease inhibitors (e.g., indinavir, ritonavir).

Avoid combination with Similar Medications:

  • Do not take vardenafil with other products containing vardenafil or similar medications used for erectile dysfunction (e.g., sildenafil, tadalafil), or pulmonary hypertension.
Precautions and Interactions:

Possible Side Effects:

If you experience any of the following symptoms, contact your doctor immediately: thoughts about body hair, chest pain, dizziness, or lightheadedness. If you experience serious side effects (e.g., fainting, difficulty breathing, or significant loss of vision), you should seek medical attention immediately: chest pain that doesn't go away, severe dizziness, or fainting.

Other Notes:

  • Keep a track of all the products you use (externally) and keep an eye out for herbal products (Ex SNAPStore). These track how your medications work and help ensure your safety.
  • Give your pharmacist access to this list. They may have additional items for review.
